Whether you are brand new to Surface Quilting on a Stand up frame Longarm or a Sit Down Longarm, been quilting for a while and just need a refresher or just thinking about Long Arming, this is the class for you! Jamie will guide you through the maze of information and misinformation out there. You will finish this class with a whole new attitude!

Some of the information covered will be:

“Batting" and how to choose the type and loft for your specific projects. 

“Thread” the various types and purposes of the different threads out on the market and how to choose based on your specific projects AND for your specific machine.

"Thread Tension” this is one of the most crucial aspects of surface quilting. Jamie will go from point A to Z and explain how to get perfect tension with the appropriate threads for your machine and how to avoid the pitfalls and frustrations throughout your Surface Quilting Life.

"Marking Tools” We will cover the best tools for the quilting job at hand and how to avoid marking and staining tragedies.

"Problem Quilts” How to deal with wavy Borders, distorted shaped quilts, open seams and many other issues a surface quilter must face successfully.

“Learning Designs” Jamie will cover the best ways to walk through your learning curve as you build your portfolio of designs throughout your surface quilting life.

"Basic Beginner designs to get you started” Jamie will take you through some basic designs to get you moving forward on your surface quilting journey. From a basic meander to swirls, a basic leaf filler and sashing design to an introduction into 2 feathers to get you primed for your lifelong adventure in quilting.
